Bangladesh cricket fans have received good news ahead of the upcoming T20I series against Australia. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana are back in the national squad after missing the previous T20I series against New Zealand in April.
As cricket followers on Tigerexch365 know, both Taskin and Rana are important members of Bangladesh’s pace attack. Their return is expected to strengthen the bowling department for the three-match series against Australia starting next week.
To make space for the two senior bowlers, selectors have left out Ripon Mondol and Mohammad Saifuddin from the squad. Nahid Rana has played only one T20I so far, while Taskin Ahmed last appeared in a T20I match against Zimbabwe in October 2025. Another fast bowler, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, has also retained his place in the squad after being selected against New Zealand earlier this year.
Changes in Bangladesh Test Squad
For the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe in Harare, Bangladesh have made several changes. Towhid Hridoy has earned a place in the Test squad for the first time. The talented batter has already represented Bangladesh in ODIs and T20Is, and now gets an opportunity in the longer format.
Chief selector Habibul Bashar said that Hridoy was picked because of his positive batting approach and ability to score quickly when needed. In his first-class career, he has scored three centuries in 16 matches.
Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana have been rested from the Test squad as part of the team’s rotation policy.
TigerExch247 Reports New Face in Test Squad
One of the most interesting selections is Robiul Haque, a promising medium pacer who can also contribute with the bat. The team management sees him as a future fast-bowling all-rounder.
Robiul has impressed in domestic cricket with 107 wickets and 620 runs in 32 first-class matches. Experienced pacer Khaled Ahmed has also returned to the squad for the Zimbabwe Test.
Fans following tiger exchange cricket updates will be eager to see how these new combinations perform in international matches.
